The College of Science and Engineering is pleased to welcome the Department of Agricultural Sciences and its faculty, staff and students in Fall 2024. The department was previously in the College of Applied Arts. With the addition of almost 800 B. S. and M. S. students in Agricultural Sciences to the other large programs in CoSE, we are approaching 9,000 bachelors, masters and doctoral students in the college. Agricultural Sciences also contributes greatly to the CoSE research profile with 27 active funded research projects totaling approximately $15M. The research expenditures for Agricultural Sciences the past year were over $2.5M, making an excellent contribution to the Texas State University Run to R1. Several of these research grants are in collaboration with faculty in other CoSE departments, so Agricultural Sciences is a natural addition to the College of Science and Engineering, the largest and fastest growing college at Texas State University.
