02.RELATED UNIVERSITY POLICY
02.01 AA/PPS No. 04.01.50, Faculty Merit and Retention Salary Adjustments
03.PROCEDURES FOR ANNUAL MERIT EVALUATION
03.01 Due to the diverse nature of disciplines that make up the College of Science and Engineering, no college policy and procedure statement (PPS) for annual merit evaluation is available. Each department or school will be responsible for creating and maintaining a PPSs outlining expectations for annual merit that must be approved by the dean. Materials reflecting faculty performance in the applicable areas of teaching, research, scholarly or creative activities, and service will be reviewed by the unit’s Personnel Committee, or designated group. These committees will advise the chair or director concerning the distribution of merit raises.
03.02 After reviewing the Personnel Committee, or designated group, recommendations, the chair or school director will provide each faculty member with a merit recommendation that the chair or director will forward to the dean.
03.04 Each chair or director will discuss merit recommendations with the dean. The dean will then make final recommendations to the provost and vice president for Academic Affairs.
03.05 Faculty members may appeal their merit level following the process described in AA/PPS No. 04.01.50, Faculty Merit and Retention Salary Adjustments.
